For better or worse, I am a huge fan of Disney’s original 1950s animated classic, Cinderella. It’s a masterpiece of simple, effective animation, natural humor, and a lack of time-specific fashion (this story is set sometime in the 1800s, I assume, yet Cinderella and other characters have silhouettes and hairstyles specific to the ’50s).

It would seem that the new trailer for Disney’s live-action version starring Lily James (cousin Rose from Downton Abbey), Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Sophie McShera (Daisy from Downton Abbey), Hayley Atwell, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgård, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi, Nonso Anozie, Ben Chaplin and Leila Wong is comforting familiar to the original animated film. The tradition of mismatched century fashion continues!

My favorite part of this trailer is when Blanchett, as Lady Tremaine, states, “Madam will do.” LOVE IT. Blanchett sure knows how to make evil look and feel so fun.

Check it out for yourself! Cinderella will hit theaters March 13, 2015.
