The movie that everyone’s been talking about (and confused about) finally has a trailer! Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell has now given fans a first look and I have to say, I’m impressed.

To say that this film is a “reimagining” is actually being tame. This film is a complete departure from the traditional Fantastic Four Marvel comics, so if you’re a purist, don’t go see this. If you are a racist, I would advise that you also not see this, since Michael B. Jordan is playing Kate Mara’s brother and is the Human Torch. And they have a black dad (played by Reg E. Cathey).

Otherwise, this film looks incredible. Dare I say that it might do for this fledgling franchise what Dawn and Rise of the Planet of the Apes did for the Planet of the Apes franchise. I could be totally wrong, but it looks like it’s got that potential.

It would seem that Fantastic Four is a good comic franchise to re-envision since I have never heard of Fantastic Four purists like I’ve heard of X-Men, Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman or Spider-Man purists. Heck, I’m Batman purist, which is why I still can’t watch Gotham without my skin crawling. Not many people are going to be hung up on a lot of things concerning Fantastic Four, so why not forego everything to create a better, more interesting story? And besides, all 20th Century Fox wants at the end o the day is to have a successful movie.
