I don’t really need to write a post about this, since the pictures speak for themselves. Goodbye, Bruce Jenner, hello Caitlyn Jenner. Here’s Caitlyn, as photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair:

Look, I know there are some people who have ill feelings about Jenner being part of the Kardashian clan, a family that is known for being famous for showing their lives on screen. Due to their track record, a lot of people think that that family will do whatever to stay in the spotlight. But it’d be out-of-bounds for someone to completely change their gender and their whole life just to add another chapter to the Kardashian reality machine. Here’s what Jenner said to Vanity Fair interviewer Buzz Bissinger:
“I’m not doing it for money. I’m doing it to help my soul and help other people. If I can make a dollar, I’m certainly not stupid. [I have] house payments and all that kind of stuff. I will never make an excuse for something like that. Yeah, this is a business. You don’t go out and change your gender for a television. O.K., it ain’t happening. I don’t care who you are.”
I know there are some that are going to think on her “Yeah, this is a business” comment, but regardless, I think she looks great and I’m happy Jenner can live as she’s wanted to. I’m hopeful for her success in this new life. As Jenner herself states:
Regardless of what you think about Jenner’s decision to take her transition public, this moment in history can teach all of us more about the struggles and triumphs of transgender denizens at large. We can put ourselves in the Kardashian family’s position and ask ourselves how we would react if one of our loved ones came to us to say that they wanted to live as they truly felt. I would hope we would all be as supportive as possible, even while dealing with the grief and sense of loss that would certainly come up.
