A new trailer for Gladiator II from Paramount Pictures dropped this morning. As usual, it highlights the plight of Maximus’ nephew, Lucius, who is looking to fight for the freemen of Rome from the oppression of its Emperors. All the while showcasing more Denzel Washington as a pushback against the derogatory comments regarding his role in the film and black people in ancient Rome. This is a great strategy to continue to push diversity in film and quite honestly, there were famous black people in ancient Rome to begin with. It seems as though Ridley Scott is hoping to entertain his audience with this rapturous sequel when it comes out on November 22nd. Here is the new official trailer:
