A few weeks ago on Instagram, I posted a carousel about the online backlash over Gabourey Sidibe’s outfit as Queenie in a leaked set image from American Horror Story 13.
Many fans thought her clothes looked shapeless and dull, which shows how often Hollywood dresses plus-size women in an unflattering way.
I commented how there have been many instances throughout Hollywood’s history in which bigger women, from Wilson Phillips group member Carnie Phillips to Raven-Symoné and others in between, who have been dressed in shapeless, wildly ugly looks.
After that, I started thinking about how I would style her for the new season.
Queenie’s style is all about fashionable comfort. She dresses down a lot with casual pieces when she’s not in witchy black. But when she is doing coven work, she still keeps the comfort but increases bold statement accessories and elements.
With that in mind, here’s what I came up with after browsing around online plus-size clothing brand Eloquii.
