Da’Vine Joy Randolph is someone who told me in a Blavity interview how she was happy to represent for the girls who didn’t grow up seeing themselves on screen. And from how she’s carried herself throughout her career, Randolph has really given girls who might feel left behind someone to root for. Randolph’s characters are complex, funny, thought-provoking, and fashionable. Randolph is even more fashionable off-set; her red carpet glam has been some of the best in the business. It’d be great to see her holding her own in a rom-com.
