4. Niecy Nash

Niecy Nash has been a Hollywood staple for years, but I don’t think we’ve seen her take on rom-coms yet. Scratch that–I don’t think we’ve seen her take on rom-coms in which she is the lead. We’ve seen her be “sassy no-nonsense best friend” characters before, but we need to see her cast as a romantic lead taking on the world.

This isn’t to say that Nash has just been given bit parts; she’s played in everything from Reno: 911 to The Bernie Mac Show to dramas like When They See Us and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Nash has the range. She just needs to be given more opportunities to exercise her gifts.
